I have so far gotten a small group of friends together to begin working on setting up a Birthright (so far it looks like an attempt at a 4th Edition, rules lite) game setup for beginners to Birthright and even a few folks are new to D&D. Now, being not the best of a DM, I'm very new to DMing but found Birthright not just an appeal to my players but to myself as well, so I am setting up the game to be of a fairly new continent in a later-explained method. I am curious if there are others interested, though I will mention again that this is rules lite since my other players aren't fond of the whole keeping track of what skill rolls have what modifiers and etc... so, I am simplifying it as much as I can for them.
I am always interested in playing a game. I have not played much in the Birthright Realm. but i am always willing to jump in and learn a new realm. would just need to know basic info about when and where and all that stuff.
I understand. As I said, I'm trying to keep it pretty simple, so I will be figuring this stuff out. I'm so far only able to convince my players to drive as far out as the Barnes and Nobles on Financial Parkway (as we all live in the West Little Rock area), but I am still telling them that should they need gaming supplies we should look towards Imagine! If there is one or two of them that want to meet me out at Imagine! when we do our private sessions (as apparently I have two players who can only play on Saturday and three who are Thursday only and one that is pretty much whenever his schedule allows).
right now i can play any of those days that would fit. also it would help to know what edition you are playing. I have played every edition from 2nd up to the current. As far as I know Birthright has not been done wince 2nd edition (I could be wrong). but let me know. And if you would like and your players are willing to play at Imagine we can run the game there and I may be able to get you a few more players.
I'd really love to play at Imagine, but unfortunately as the majority of my players work at Walmart on Highway 10 and are not too interested in playing much further than the Barnes and Nobles on Financial Parkway (which was a bit of negotiation as is just to convince them to convene at one place), I might have a hard time getting more than a few to say ok to Imagine. Personally, I'd love to run a game on Saturday over there at Imagine (which is more the traditional BR game with characters made and all 2nd Edition) but for the Thursday game my players are pretty much a Rules-lite group since most have never played before. 4th Edition races/classes is mostly what I will be using for that game (as the Saturday crew may or may not switch to Thursday). I've lost one guy since he has lost his job and has no means of communicating with me and perhaps won't want to since I've found that folks who leave jobs sometimes don't like talking to ex-coworkers. However, as I said, I will try to talk them playing at Imagine. Personally, if someone were willing to run and perhaps instruct me how to properly run Birthright (since I haven't been in a game offline in over 12 years), but I will try my best.
That might be a useful resource for you folks. I know when I was considering setting up a 3E Birthright game, some of their conversion notes were very handy. Not sure if they've done many 4E style conversions. I'd probably treat Bloodline abilities like Dragonmarks from Eberron. High End Feats that come with built in catches. It's a /lot/ simpler than the Bloodline system in Birthright, but it's a lot easier too.
I've been on that site for a long while. There are a few bits of info for 4E but not much. The bloodline info is up for 4E and I will be using that, but as far as some other aspects of Birthright, it'll be a little touchy.
