Would there be interest in starting up a Saturday group to play the new Dresden Files RPG? I'm a big fan of the books, preordered the RPG, and could run or play. The system is FATE based, which I'm familiar with from Spirit of the Century. The setting is modern, kitchen sink horror/fantasy.
The setup of the game involves the players working with the GM to design the city they'll be playing in, complete with threats that will need to be addressed, then working together to create intertwined characters.
Regardless, if people are interested, please reply, or drop me an email. corinthi@yahoo.com
We have 2 people at the store that are interested in playing and one would possible run. Reply here and we can get together at the shop some time and come up with something. The person willing to run the game also already has a city built
I finally got my books yesterday through UPS. They're so pretty and huge.
Is the person interested in running set on the details of his city, or is it a framework that the players can work with as well? I think the collaborative nature of city creation is one of the best ideas in the game because it creates immediate buy in and a feeling of ownership for everyone involved. It's not so much the GM's game world as everyone's game world, at least for campaign play. While on my upcoming vacation I'm going to design a one shot to run at Imagine at some point, probably in August.
Regardless, I'm interested. I'd love a chance to actually play Dresden.
You would have to talk to the person who designed the City, but I am sure she would be willing to talk with the group and possible make changes, we would just have to sit down and talk with the whole group.
Probably a more pressing issue is scheduling. I run a game on Friday evenings, and play in games every other Saturday and every Sunday. So I'd probably need a weeknight game, which is tough for people.
